On today’s episode of Felony Friday Aaron David Seidel joins host John Odermatt to share why he’s fighting for Ohio Governor John Kasich to grant him a full pardon. In August of 2004 Aaron, at 18 years old, was convicted of one count of attempted murder, for the shooting of his then step-father.
Aaron was sentenced to five years in prison, and was released in 2009. The five-year sentence was a reflection of the mitigating circumstances which lead to the shooting. Since the commission of his crime, Aaron has committed to a life of self-actualization through the service of others.
While still in prison, Aaron passed his GED exam and attended college at Marion Technical Center in business management. Aaron is currently finishing his undergraduate degree in both environmental geoscience, and applied mathematics. He has ambitions to go to graduate school or join the military. However, the walls that society builds around those with a criminal record is holding Aaron back from reaching his full potential. This is why Aaron is petitioning Ohio Governor John Kasich for a full pardon. Aaron has aspirations to get his PhD., he wants to be the best man he can be for his family and maximize his contributions to the world.
