There is a bill currently in the Senate that every American should be extremely concerned about. The National Defense Authorization Act includes Section 1301, which states: “Congress affirms that the authority of the President to use all necessary and appropriate force…includes the authority for the Armed Forces of the United States to detain covered persons…Detention under the law of war without trial”. This clearly gives the power to the President and the military to detain anyone it chooses without trial.
Using a tactic that the US has perfected to disarm and placate its citizens through wordplay, Egypt has renamed its secret police force to “Homeland Security.” Doesn’t that sound all nice and fuzzy? Just like our own incredibly intrusive, liberty & Bill of Rights ignoring “Homeland Security!” This should serve as a wakeup call, that a military dictatorship is ripping a page straight from our so called “free” nation to continue to oppress its citizens. Those crazy central planners in Washington DC are at it again. Out of the goodness of their hearts they have proposed a bill that would eliminate fees on your airline baggage. Economic expert and central planner extraordinaire, Mary Landrieu, is the brilliant mind behind this proposed idiotic piece of legislation. The Senator from Louisiana details her argument below. Air travel can be a stressful experience for many reasons, but unfair fees for basic amenities should not be one of them…….Passengers have been nickeled and dimed for far too long
Something big happened over the summer, something very, very big. My guess is, however, you didn’t even hear about it. As a matter of fact, finding information about it has been nothing short of an extensive research project. The event (or non-event according to our informative media) was the Federal Reserve’s surpassing China as the largest holder of US Treasuries-a.k.a. national debt. This essentially means that the federal government is now the largest creditor of the federal government. Wait, what?
Tonight America was blessed by YET ANOTHER GOP Presidential debate, this one sponsored by CNN and two of America’s most beloved Neoconservative (what’s Neoconservative, you ask? Don’t worry, you’re not alone, even GOP candidate Herman Cain has no idea) organizations, the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute. After sitting through 2 hours of this, I can sum up everything as follows: Ron Paul: We should have a foreign policy of defending the United States, and not of policing the
What is being bandied about as a “hijacking” of a Ron Paul Q & A session in Keene, New Hampshire on Monday appears to be something slightly different. There were Occupy Wall Street supporters at the event that, after the last question was called, started their “Mic Check” routine where one guy (the guy in red in the video below) shouts something and the rest of them repeat it so that everyone can hear. However, this didn’t seem like quite
Well, it looks like it’s finally safe to consider being a vegetarian, because Congress just made Pizza a vegetable!!! Woohoo!!! As with almost all of the inane things Congress does, this was quietly snuck into a “spending” bill, reversing earlier standards set by the Department of Agriculture at the behest of the Crappy Frozen Foods Lobby. Other school lunch “standards” included in this helps keep french fries and salty foods on the menu for our nation’s school children. You know,
Ladies and gentlemen, the buffoonery coming from the mouth of GOP Presidential Candidate Herman Cain has reached a new level. I realize that most of the main stream coverage on Mr. Cain revolves around his alledged touching, or thinking about touching, or talking about thinking about touching a woman other than his wife. This coverage has distracted many people from the fact that, this “Tea Party” candidate, is a big government loving, crony capitalist. There has been no shortage of
