Posted on September 22, 2017 by John Odermatt Posted in Capital Punishment, Felons 1 Comment

Shane Claiborne joins the Felony Friday show to discuss a subject that is pretty controversial, the death penalty. Shane is a Christian activist and author who is one of the founding members of the intentional community, the Simple Way, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Eastern University, where he studied sociology and youth ministry. Shane has an impressive resume. He worked alongside Mother Teresa during a 10-week term in Calcutta. He spent three weeks in Baghdad with the Iraq

The Morning Roar: Obama Nominates SOPA Lobbyist, NYPD Does Not Protect People, And John Kerry The Hypocrite

Obama nominates former SOPA lobbyist to lead TPP negotiations The Electronic Frontier Foundation reports that President Obama has nominated former SOPA lobbyist Robert Holleyman to join the U.S. negotiators leading the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The TPP is a secretive, multi-national trade agreement which, if the establishment cronies have their way, will serve to restrict intellectual property laws around the world.  Obama’s nomination of Holleyman, a former CEO of the Business Software Alliance (BSA), signals that the administration has every intention of pushing

Mondays with Murray: The Influence of Rothbard

Posted on September 23, 2013 by Marc Clair Posted in Foreign Policy, Philosophy of Liberty 4 Comments

For this weeks edition of Mondays with Murray, we turn the floor over to Tom Woods, who gave a speech last year describing how Murray Rothbard changed his mind on war. Woods, much like Lions of Liberty contributor John Odermatt, is a self-professed former Neocon as it pertains to his foreign policy views. Similar to how the words of Ron Paul schooling Rudy Giuliani on the issue of blowback awoke Odermatt from his neoconservative coma, Woods was snapped out of his Neocon

It Does Not Matter If Syria Used Chemical Weapons

Posted on August 30, 2013 by John Odermatt Posted in Current Events, Foreign Policy 1 Comment

It has always amazed me how the State, with assistance from the media, is almost always able to nudge a vast majority of the populace in the direction they desire. Even when opposition to government intervention domestically or foreign entanglements invoke strong resistance in the beginning, eventually the masses go along with the government wishes. In regards to the present situation in Syria, the State could be using the accusation of chemical weapons use in order to sway public opinion.

Mondays With Murray: Rothbard On Revolution

Posted on July 29, 2013 by John Odermatt Posted in Philosophy of Liberty 6 Comments

For those libertarians that set their goals on the dismantling of the State, it is difficult to determine how a transition into a Stateless society would occur.  Some advocate only non-violent civil disobedience under all circumstances, others hang their hope on political actions, and still others claim the only chance for the dissolution of the State is by way of revolution. It is critically important to make the distinction that inciting revolution is not synonymous with demanding violent overthrow of

This past Wednesday former Congressman and current Champion of Liberty Ron Paul unveiled his Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity, an offshoot of his non-profit education organization Foundation for Rational Economics & Education (FREE). Within this new institution he has assembled a team of peace-lovin’ super friends to help him battle the evil Neoconservatives and their warmongering ways. The arena is the battlefield of ideas, and boy did Dr. Paul ever come prepared with a team of intellectual superheroes

Posted on April 1, 2013 by Marc Clair Posted in Philosophy of Liberty 3 Comments

In this edition of Mondays with Murray, we pick up where we left off last week towards the tail end of Murray Rothbard’s speech on the six stages of libertarianism. If you haven’t read our full breakdown of the six stages from last week, check it out now. Don’t worry, we’ll be patient… Towards the end of Rothbard’s speech he details the five key questions that libertarians need to settle among themselves in order to have a successful movement. This part of

Obama Doesn't Bluff On Iran..Except to American Citizens

Posted on March 6, 2012 by Brian McWilliams Posted in Foreign Policy, Politics 3 Comments

President Obama has been topping news reports repeatedly recently with his various statements regarding Iran, Israel and the possibility of Iran becoming a nuclear power. Most recently Obama met with Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu, and in a widely quoted statement informed him that the U.S. “had Israel’s back.” This comes in the wake of Netanyahu claiming that Israel would “reserve the right to defend itself,” with the potential for a military strike against Iran’s nuclear sites a strong possibility. Obama

Paul's Weekend: 89 seconds and $1 Million

Posted on November 15, 2011 by Marc Clair Posted in 2012 Election, Ron Paul, Videos Leave a comment

This weekend was a big one for that champion of liberty, Congressman Ron Paul. Not only did he raise $1 Million in his Veterans’ Day Money Bomb, but he also got the opportunity to “participate” in yet another GOP Debate on foreign policy, aired by CBS. However, Dr. Paul, clearly a frontrunner for the GOP nomination by any measure be it fund raising, straw polls, or standard poll, was given merely 89 seconds to speak in the hour that aired
