In today’s episode, Marc is joined by Tea Party co-founder and energy freedom advocate, Debbie Dooley! It’s Friday, so shoot off whatever remaining fireworks you have left! And also enjoy this Friday Morning Roar. Australia’s First Libertarian Politician Speaks to the Parliament Well, the United States still is looking for its first seated libertarian politician (and no, Rand Paul doesn’t count) but David Leyonhjelm has taken the honor in Australia, representing New South Wales (hat tip to the people of that state, which includes the country’s Capital of Sydney) as the nation’s first elected libertarian official.
I recently discussed public misconceptions about libertarianism: what it is, and who is or isn’t libertarian. I also wrote about it in my article discussing Rand Paul, citing how the general population considers the Tea Party to be a libertarian organization, and supported by the vast majority of libertarians. This couldn’t be farther from the truth, even though the mainstream media’s horrible, inaccurate reporting and liberal bias obviously hasn’t helped. Fortunately, Yahoo (and other MSM outlets) has written an article
It might be time to take ol’ Harry Reid out to pasture, as the elderly statesman seems to be slowly slipping into senility right before our very eyes, and the watching cameras of C-Span. Opining about Republicans inserting amendments into S. 1392, the Energy Savings and Industrial Competitiveness Act that would delay the individual healthcare mandate in Obamacare, plus one that forces Congress to abide by the same rules as everyday Americans and use health care exchanges, Reid slandered anarchists

TIME’s Joe Klein laments: And now they have violated one of the more sacred rules of our democracy: you do not use the tax code to punish your opponents. Ok, first of all, there is nothing whatsoever “sacred” about democracy. Second, how is this IRS scandal any different from everything else the government does? Government is always playing favorites, taking sides, and punishing innocent individuals. For
Last night, as Tropical Storm Isaac plowed its way towards Tampa, a real storm was brewing in the Sun Dome – a liberty storm of Ron Paul supporters waiting to hear the speech that won’t be allowed at the Republican National Convention. Typically I like to use this space to ramble on and on, and believe me I will return shortly to do so. But until then, watch the Conscience of the GOP and The Godfather of the real Tea
POW, right to the kisser! That’s what happened to the GOP establishment in Texas last night, as Tea Party candidate and lawyer Ted Cruz upset the heavily backed establishment GOP candidate, David Dewhurst, in the Republican primary runoff for Kay Baily Hutchinson’s Senate seat. The Tea Party overlaps with many libertarian ideals (with a lot of room for improvement), however the real reason that this win is getting a nod on Lions of Liberty is that Cruz thanked the true
