Attention Santorum Supporters: The Fight is Not Over

If you are one of the thousands of people who read this blog on a daily basis, then you are probably familiar with two pieces that I authored which were critical of Senator Rick Santorum (Author’s note: I might be exaggerating a tad regarding our number of readers).  After Rick had a huge night in early February, with three primary wins, I became motivated to expose the truth about Mr. Santorum.  The blog post, 9 Reasons Not to Vote for Rick Santorum, focused on 9 fatal flaws that exposed Santorum as a big government Republican who did not have the record or the policy positions needed  to defeat Mitt Romney or President Obama.  Much to my surprise, Rick continued to win states well into the month of March.  In the middle of last month, after Mr. Santorum had recently triumphed in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Kansas it was impossible for me not to speak out again.  The second piece was a presentment detailing the Santorum campaign’s blunders, lack of grassroots support, and their inability to gather any momentum in his home state of Pennsylvania.None of us know the true reason why Rick Santorum decided to drop out of the race for the GOP nomination.  We can speculate that he caved in and accepted a deal from Mitt Romney or GOP establishment (they are the same thing anyway right?).  The reason is not important right now.  The most crucial element of Senator Santorum’s concession speech was his plea to continue fighting. It’s no secret that there are numerous positions where liberty minded individuals like myself disagree with Rick Santorum’s brand of politics.  Now is not the time to open old wounds and rehash those disagreements.  We are approaching a defining moment in our great nation’s history.  Our federal government’s size, interventionist policies, and deficit spending have the United States on the brink of financial collapse. It is absolutely imperative that we do not allow Romney any room to breathe in this race.  Governor Romney is closing in on securing the nomination.  At this turning point in history, it is of utmost importance that we unite behind the principles that have made this country great.  Santorum supporters need to join with conservatives, constitutionalists, and libertarians and deliver Congressman Ron Paul as many votes as possible in the remaining primaries.  Ron Paul needs to send a clear message by beating Mitt Romney in several states.  The reason behind this argument is straightforward.  If we do not apply pressure to Romney then he will begin to feel comfortable.  As soon as Romney feels that he has the conservative wing of the party behind him he’ll shift his focus and begin to pander to the leftist liberals and RINO members of the GOP (think etch-a-sketch).  We simply cannot afford to have another Republican President that caters to special interests, shrugs off balancing the budget, and continues to allow the federal government to intrude into our personal lives.Personally, Ron Paul is the only candidate that will receive my vote.  He is the only Presidential candidate that offers a plan to balance the budget.  Ron Paul has never voted for an unbalanced budget, never voted to raise taxes, never voted for an unconstitutional war, and he actually takes his oath of office seriously. The chief reason why I am voting for Dr. Paul is because I believe in the ideals of liberty.  The grand experiment that began over 200 years ago is being threatened by domestic forces that despise the prosperity that freedom provides.  It is time to speak loud and let the GOP establishment know that we will not tolerate another moderate in the White House espousing conservative rhetoric, but enacting liberal policies.  There are many states that have yet to vote.  A lot can change in a few short weeks. Not too many years ago I was a Neoconservative.  The idea of liberty is a powerful one.  Welcome to the Revolution.Receive access to ALL of our EXCLUSIVE bonus audio content – including “Conspiracy Corner”, “Degenerate Gamblers” and the “League of Liberty Podcast” by joining the Lions of Liberty Pride and supporting us on Patreon!
