Obama's Speech: Fallacies & Lies Exposed
Here is a snapshot of President Obama’s speech to the Democratic National Convention with some of Obama’s greatest hits (Since we’ve heard all of this before) and my commentary following.
…But when all is said and done, when you pick up that ballot to vote, you will face the clearest choice of any time in a generation. (Cheers.) Over the next few years big decisions will be made in Washington on jobs, the economy, taxes and deficits, energy, education, war and peace — decisions that will have a huge impact on our lives and on our children's lives for decades to come.
Or not, since both candidates still back big government, aggressive foreign policy and a pro-war state.
And on every issue, the choice you face won't just be between two candidates or two parties. It will be a choice between two different paths for America, a choice between two fundamentally different visions for the future. Ours is a fight to restore the values that built the largest middle class and the strongest economy the world has ever known…
What? Minutes into his speech and Obama is talking about Values again? As discussed with his wife’s speech, Obama’s values include unconstitutional wars, the most abuse of Executive Privilege by any President, the bombing of innocent civilians, assassination of American citizens without any due process, and killing children. Did those values build America? Or is he talking about the values of former Presidents? Like the ones that were against fiat currency and the FED? Or who were for non-interventionist foreign policy like the founders of our nation? Because Obama’s reign has seen one of the worst recessions in American history and a rapidly shrinking middle class.
...the values that drove my grandmother to work on a bomber assembly line while he was gone. They knew they were part of something larger — a nation that triumphed over fascism and depression, a nation where the most innovative businesses turn out the world's best products, and everyone shared in that pride and success from the corner office to the factory floor.
So yes, Obama loves going to war, however a huge diff is that in WWII we were attacked on American soil and had to defend ourselves. We didn’t proactively attack countries that had nothing to do with terrorist attacks, or get involved in civil wars. We were indeed “part of something bigger,” and that part was trying not to die or be taken over during a massive world war.
…fulfill the basic bargain at the heart of America's story, the promise that hard work will pay off, that responsibility will be rewarded, that everyone gets a fair shot and everyone does their fair share and everyone plays by the same rules, from Main Street to Wall Street to Washington, D.C.
Everyone does play by the same rules – and if the rules have loopholes, god bless those who find them. Obama would like to punish the rich for being clever, or for hiring people who are clever and can escape the taxes levied on them. Punish the wealthy!
Now, our friends down in Tampa at the Republican convention were more than happy to talk about everything they think is wrong with America. But they didn't have much to say about how they'd make it right. (Cheers, applause.) They want your vote, but they don't want you to know their plan. And that's because all they have to offer is the same prescriptions they've had for the last 30 years. Have a surplus? Try a tax cut. Deficit too high — try another.
What is Obama’s plan?? Obama has given NOTHING but empty rhetoric – he hasn’t given a plan other than to tax the rich and let the Fed devalue our currency even further. Oh, and also to lose billions more in green energy. Don’t like it? Want to protest? Too bad. Obama has enacted laws to silence you. And others to assure that if you aren’t quiet you can be taken away in the night.
But I don't believe that another round of tax breaks for millionaires will bring good jobs to our shores, or pay down our deficit. I don't believe that firing teachers or kicking students off financial aid will grow the economy — (cheers, applause) — or help us compete with the scientists and engineers coming out of China.
Education isn’t a right and the government shouldn’t be involved. Also, all of the top talent abroad is educated here. However, they have far less restrictions on business abroad, thus industry thrives and those trained here go back to greener pastures.
And the truth is, it will take more than a few years for us to solve challenges that have built up over decades. It'll require common effort, shared responsibility, and the kind of bold, persistent experimentation that Franklin Roosevelt pursued during the only crisis worse than this one.
“Persistent Experimentation” – so Obama is saying that he has no idea how to fix it, but dammit, we’ll throw money at it willy nilly and see if anything works by sheer luck. Also, FDR has been cited time and time again as actually having monetary policies that caused and lengthened the Great Depression. So let’s do that again! Four more years! Four more years!
And by the way, those of us who carry on his party's legacy should remember that not every problem can be remedied with another government program or dictate from Washington.
GASP! But that’s all you have ever preached! What is the plan without it?? Can we hear it? No, of course not. But always nice to pay lip service to.
But know this, America: Our problems can be solved. (Cheers, applause.) Our challenges can be met. (Applause.) The path we offer may be harder, but it leads to a better place, and I'm asking you to choose that future. (Applause.)
Choose the future! TASTE THE RAINBOW!
I'm asking you to rally around a set of goals for your country, goals in manufacturing, energy, education, national security and the deficit, real, achievable plans that will lead to new jobs, more opportunity and rebuild this economy on a stronger foundation. That's what we can do in the next four years, and that is why I am running for a second term as president of the United States.
If you can DREAM IT…you can DO IT! Thanks, inspirational poster, Obama! Is he running for President or is he the counselor at a Cheer Camp? Setting goals will obviously get it done. We’ve never set goals before.
I've met workers in Detroit and Toledo who feared they'd never build another American car. And today they can't build them fast enough because we reinvented a dying auto industry that's back on the top of the world.
Obama didn’t reinvent anything – he injected taxpayer money into GM, which benefitted from resurgence in the auto market that helped every manufacturer, including FORD, which rejected a bailout. Of course, the government also paid consumers to buy those cars to the tune of $1Billion during the “Cash for Clunkers” program. Also, Bush, who Obama likes to blame for everything, actually was the one who first saved GM and Chrysler with a bailout from the TARP funds. BTW, GM still owes the government $25 billion since GM stock is down. That most likely will even out though. Another point is that the auto industry would have most likely emerged in a similar state as it is now after going through bankruptcy. Chrysler was sold to Fiat, and GM’s various brands (or the whole) would have also been sold off to other manufacturers. The world would not have stopped turning had Obama (and Bush) not stepped in. That is always the great fallacy in these bailouts – the assumption that when something dies, nothing will replace it, or take up the slack. Where there is a need in business, that need is filled, and quickly. Everyone loves a firesale.
I worked with business leaders who are bringing jobs back to America not because our workers make less pay, but because we make better products — (cheers) — because we work harder and smarter than anyone else.
Hahaha yes, because THAT is how business functions. This reminds me of my story about Ethanol. Please, take a minute and read it, if only to see how little Obama actually understands about business.
You know, in a world of new threats and new challenges, you can choose leadership that has been tested and proven. Four years ago I promised to end the war in Iraq. We did.
We did NOT. The US is still fighting in Iraq and has 80,000 people on the ground there – we’re just using mercenary forces
I promised to refocus on the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11, and we have.
We haven’t – we were primarily attacked by Saudi Arabians, not Afghans.
We've blunted the Taliban's momentum in Afghanistan and in 2014, our longest war will be over.
This is a total fabrication cited here. The war there will also be privatized and transitioned to mercenaries. The Taliban is “officially” out of power, but very much still in control of the country. Afghan forces want nothing to do with them and view the battle as between the US and the Taliban. When we leave, they will stop pretending to fight and the Taliban will take control again officially.
But for all the progress that we've made, challenges remain. Terrorist plots must be disrupted. Europe's crisis must be contained. Our commitment to Israel's security must not waver, and neither must our pursuit of peace. The Iranian government must face a world that stays united against its nuclear ambitions.
Translation: we will go to war with Iran (even though Israel does NOT need our help, as a nuclear-armed country and a rich one at that) before November comes because it will once again embroil us in a “noble” war that will help me be re-elected. Wartime Presidents historically have been very hard to displace.
This is the choice we now face. This is what the election comes down to. Over and over, we've been told by our opponents that bigger tax cuts and fewer regulations are the only way, that since government can't do everything, it should do almost nothing. If you can't afford health insurance, hope that you don't get sick.
But if you can, and don’t want to opt into healthcare, TOO BAD! You’re being forced to buy a service and if you don’t you pay a tax or go to jail!
You know what, that's not who we are. That's not what this country is about. As Americans, we believe we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, rights that no man or government can take away
Like Liberty? That's one of those inalienable rights but Obama has been stellar at taking that away piece by piece. Extending and expanding the Patriot Act, Approving of SOPA, PIPA and CISPA, plus the NDAA…
We insist on personal responsibility, and we celebrate individual initiative. We're not entitled to success. We have to earn it. We honor the strivers, the dreamers, the risk- takers, the entrepreneurs who have always been the driving force behind our free enterprise system, the greatest engine of growth and prosperity that the world's ever known.
...Yet we believe in socializing everything and penalizing those who do better than others, plus in having the world’s highest corporate tax rate and dizzying challenges to starting a new business. These things go hand in hand, obviously. From there on out it’s just feel good, rah-rah garbage, which doesn’t need to be rehashed. Obama is Obama – full of strong yet vague words, socialist ideals and a strong appeal to people who are attracted to: the easy way, a strong personality and a very large, and quickly failing government parachute.Receive access to ALL of our EXCLUSIVE bonus audio content – including “Conspiracy Corner”, “Degenerate Gamblers” and the “League of Liberty Podcast” by joining the Lions of Liberty Pride and supporting us on Patreon!
