CA Gov. Jerry Brown Provides The Dumbest Anti-Marijuana Legalization Argument Yet
Sometimes there are quotes of such deep idiocy that they demand attention. California Governor Jerry Brown issued one such quote this past Sunday regarding the legalization of marijuana during an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press."
“We have medical marijuana, which gets very close to what they have in Colorado and Washington. I’d really like those two states to show us how it’s going to work,” he said. “The world’s pretty dangerous, very competitive. I think we need to stay alert, if not 24 hours a day, more than some of the potheads might be able to put together.”
I'm literally laughing as I type this, re-reading that ridiculous stance on the legalization of marijuana. Does he really think that the great downfall of our nation will be because everyone is just "toooooo stoned to like, get the threat, man?" Really? This man was elected Governor. Of a STATE.What's funny is that when I first read this quote, I thought he was referring to the United States' competitive edge in industry, which I would have debunked by citing the numerous genius-level billionaires who openly use and support marijuana (because of its assistance with creative or divergent thinking). Little did I expect that this was instead about national security and Americans being too stoned to keep track of threats to our well-being on an international level.One has to wonder if every single person at the FED is constantly stoned. By Jerry Brown's logic, that at least would explain why they have wantonly printed and devalued our currency into being the one plausible threat to U.S. dominance on a global scale.Hopefully Jerry's ill-conceived comments are restricted to the innards of his skull and we won't see this point of view somehow parroted by higher-ups in the political food chain. Lord knows, our government is all about the U.S. keeping its competitive edge when it comes to world domination and empire building.
