The Morning Roar: Ex-Cop Forged Documents To Obtain Machine Gun, Illinois Middle-school Students Charged With Felonies For Sexting, And Anti Same-sex Marriage GOP Candidate Was A Drag Queen

Welcome to your Wednesday edition of The Morning Roar!Ex-Cop Forged Documents To Obtain Machine GunEric A. Spicer, a former Ohio sheriff's deputy, was charged with using falsified documents to illegally obtain a machine gun. Spicer forged his boss's signature in order to obtain the machine gun from a New York firearms dealer. When he forged the document he also claimed the weapon was only to be used while on duty.Spicer probably would have gotten away with the crime, but he was involved in a shootout in Yellow Springs Ohio that killed a suspect, Paul E. Schenk. After the shootout, Spicer was placed on paid administrative leave for several months (vacation, yay!) while the killing was investigated. After the completion of the investigation, Spicer was fired, but no charges were pressed. The shootout drew the attention of the ATF, who eventually raided Spicer's house and seized the machine gun. During the raid, Spicer lied and told the agents he was a Jackson Township Police officer.Kudos to the ATF for catching a corrupt cop who was using his position of authority for personal gain. It certainly doesn't right the wrongs for the past crimes committed by the ATF, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.A case like this one raises the question of how many cops around the country are using their badge as a shield to allow them to acquire firearms and weapons that the rest of the people are prohibited from owning. It took a man being killed for this one former law enforcement officer to be exposed. Surely there must be many others that may have followed the path of Mr. Spicer.Source: Guns.com (Quickly becoming one of my favorite websites)Illinois Middle School Students Charged With Felonies For SextingTeenagers do some of the most illogical things and make incredibly idiotic choices. These errors in judgement are a part of growing up and learning the difference between right and wrong. A teenager should never spend time in jail for non-violent "crime".In Batavia, Illinois the police believe it is acceptable to ruin the lives of two immature teenagers for making some immature decisions. They have charged two fourteen-year-old boys with felony charges that will most likely crush their hopes and dreams. The police seem to be trying to send a message that it is not OK to take naked pictures and send them via phone to other students, but it is OK to lock non-violent kids in a cage and permanently tarnish their reputations. Police State USA reports:

A ring of “sexting” was discovered at Rotolo Middle School involving at least 2 dozen teens between the ages 11 to 14 years old.  For roughly 4 to 6 weeks, the teens were texting each other nude selfies or sending the photos via various phone applications, like SnapChat.  The images were not alleged to have been taken at school.“(The photos) were explicit and obviously very improper for that age group,” Detective Kevin Bretz said, a spokesman for the Batavia Police Department. As one can imagine, middle-school children have difficulty being discreet.  The images were being passed around to among other curious students.  Ultimately the issue was made known to parents, and finally the government. For sharing the images, the Batavia Police Department targeted two male 8th grade students to face the maximum charges possible — felony possession of child pornography.

Teenagers sexting is middle school is disturbing, but it should not be the police that are dictating the punishments for these kids, it should be the teenager's parents. Posting naked pictures on the Internet or sending them to another person at any age is not a good decision. This is proven by the recent trend of revenge porn websites, which we discussed in last week's Felony Friday feature. These kids made mistakes that undoubtedly have embarrassed themselves and their families, but the solution to this issue will not be found by robbing two young teenagers of their future. There is a valuable lesson to be learned here by these kids. There is no reason for the State to play any role in teaching that lesson.Anti Same Sex Marriage GOP Candidate Was A Drag QueenFile this one under political chameleons will do whatever it takes to get elected. The Winston-Salem Journal broke a bombshell story about a Republican state Senate candidate, Steve Wiles, who supports a constitutional amendment against same-sex marriage, but used to work as a drag queen at a gay nightclub in Winston-Salem over a decade ago.

For about 14 years until 2010, Club Odyssey on Country Club Road was a nightclub where gay, lesbian and straight clientele could spend some money on drinks, relax with friends and, weekly, watch a show with talented female impersonators.Wiles was a frequent patron in the late 1990s, Duggins said. Around 2001 and 2002, Wiles worked for Duggins as the show director, booking performers and running the show as Mona Sinclair, the emcee. At the time, Tomlinson also knew Wiles.“That’s him,” Tomlinson said, referring to current photos on Wiles.Duggins said he had no doubts.“I recognized his picture when I was looking in the paper. That’s definitely him. He has aged some, but that’s him,” Duggins said. "I have no ax to grind against him. I just think he's a liar."

These individuals coming forward did not stop Wiles from denying the claim. Alas, it is 2014 and there is something called the Internet. Wiles cannot run from his past, when it's all over cyberspace. The article continues:

An online search for “Steven Wiles” and “Belews Creek,” the place he lists as his town of residence in campaign filings, turns up a link to the Miss Gay America website.Within the website, a webpage with Wiles’ name has been taken offline but the cached version was still accessible this week. The webpage lists a Steven Wiles as Mona Sinclair. It says he lives in Belews Creek and that he was a promoter of Miss Gay Eastern States America and a promoter for Miss Gay North Carolina America. The webpage also says that Wiles was suspended for “conduct unbecoming to a promoter of the Miss Gay America pageant system,” according to the webpage, without providing more information. Larry Tyger, a co-owner of the Miss Gay America pageant, said in a telephone interview that he does not discuss suspensions.

Many people will do anything for power. It amazes me that someone can be so blinded by the allure of joining the State. They will change the very fabric of their soul in order to mold themselves into the type of person they feel is most likely to win an election.Mr. Wiles has misled the people of North Carolina and that almost certainly will block his access to power. The case of Mr. Wiles is sad. However, it is interesting that the politicians who are often the staunchest advocates for the State legislating the moral behavior of the people are often the ones hiding the most skeletons in their closets.Read The Morning Roar every weekday Monday-Friday!The Lions of Liberty are on TwitterFacebook & Google+Receive access to ALL of our EXCLUSIVE bonus audio content – including “Conspiracy Corner”, “Degenerate Gamblers” and the “League of Liberty Podcast” by joining the Lions of Liberty Pride and supporting us on Patreon!
