A Fictional Scenario
While perusing the DailyPaul, I happened across a quicklink to a Lions of Liberty article, titled Should I Be Defending Dinesh D'Souza?, written by my colleague Marc Clair. To be honest, I'm not familiar with the D'Souza case, and so, I will not comment on it. However, what piqued my interest was the fictional scenario put forward by Mr. Wissler, namely:
Consider a completely fictional scenario, where a country that was almost entirely corporatist, where by virtue of a tangled web of insidious laws, virtually all employees are effectively feudal serfs. Given this fictional context, consider a newly proposed law that would add a constraint to these quasi-governmental corporate entities, for example, requiring them to pay a minimum wage.
Just how fictional is this scenario?
- Country (media and government) controlled almost entirely by corporatists? Check
- A nation of debt slaves that work paycheck-to-paycheck and, on top of that, dole out about 30% off the top in homage to the State god? Check
- Proposals of higher minimum wages to placate the serfs? Check
Fictional? Certainly not "completely."For the common man, there aren't too many frills - unless one's willing to sell his or her soul to a credit card company and/or go into debt to one of the big banks.I'm reminded of a song by Tennessee Ernie Ford. And, I'm still not for increasing the minimum wage.Receive access to ALL of our EXCLUSIVE bonus audio content – including “Conspiracy Corner”, “Degenerate Gamblers” and the “League of Liberty Podcast” by joining the Lions of Liberty Pride and supporting us on Patreon!
