TMR: "Open Carry" Map of U.S., Rand Calls Hillary a War Hawk, and Dem Rep Makes Dumbest Argument for Immigrant Legalization Ever

Oddly enough, it's far more legal in far more states to carry a concealed weapon than one in plain sight, which seems paradoxic. I know that I, for one, would much rather know who is packing heat, if provided the option.Rand Paul Calls Hillary Clinton a "War Hawk" Rand Paul is declaring it open season on Hillary Clinton - another sure sign of his impending run for the White House and GOP nomination. This time he's attacking Clinton over her "gung-ho" attitude towards the middle east. From the AP:
In an interview that aired Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press," the Kentucky Republican predicted a "transformational election" if the Democrats nominate "a war hawk like Hillary Clinton.""I think that's what scares the Democrats the most, is that in a general election, were I to run, there's gonna be a lot of independents and even some Democrats who say, `You know what? We are tired of war,'" Paul said. "We're worried that Hillary Clinton will get us involved in another Middle Eastern war, because she's so gung-ho."
Rand is an interesting cat, as most of his GOP-Neocon base that will need to be won over for a successful run also buy into the misconception that the U.S. needs to be very active in the Middle East. As Rand mentions in his quote, the Independent vote is one that could be swayed by an anti-war stance, and this seems to play well with that crowd.Democratic Representative Says We Have to Legalize Immigrants So They Don't Become TerroristsThis is really one of the absolute stupidest, most idiotic examples of fearmongering to forward a cause that I have ever seen. Representative Pat Murphy said:
“They’re not from Mexico, they’re coming from further south,” Murphy continued. “We need to make sure that when we’re talking about these children we need to treat them like they’re our children or our grandchildren. If they’re gonna be refugees, which several of them are going to be, we need to make sure that we have—one, we take care of them, and we create a pathway for citizenship and set up education for them so they don’t become the same problem that we’re currently having in the Middle East—that they’ll be terrorists a generation from now.”
Way to go electing this genius, Iowa. The logical disconnect here is staggering - how exactly does terrorism in the Middle East have anything to do with illegal immigrants? ISIS and Al Qaeda aren't attacking U.S. citizens because they want to become citizens of our nation. In fact, quite the opposite - they want us to get the hell out of their country and stay out of their politics. Why would illegal immigrants suddenly decide to become terrorists when there is no culture of terrorism?This is the worst type of ignorant fearmongering I have ever seen. It's based on no evidence, no logic, no reason - it's simply the statement of a fool intended to sway other fools.
