TMR: Cops Accuse Black Actress of Prostitution, U.S. Government “Threatened” Families Of Beheaded Reporters, Lindsey Graham Flips Out Over Obama’s ISIS Plan
There is no better way to kick-start your week than by reading The Morning Roar!Cops Accuse Black Actress of Prostitution After Kissing White BoyfriendDanièle Watts, an actress who is most famous for her role in Django Unchained, claimed via her Facebook page that she was arrested by police after they observed her kissing her husband in public. Watts, who is black, played slave CoCo in the award-winning Django Unchained. She says the cops assumed she and her husband (who is white) were a prostitute and client. Watts’ husband, Brian James Lucas, verified her claim by providing more details from the incident on his Facebook page. The Daily Mail Online covered the story and provided quotes from Watts’ Facebook pages, as well as pictures from the incident. From Watts’ Facebook page:
Today I was handcuffed and detained by 2 police officers from the Studio City Police Department after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place. When the officer arrived, I was standing on the sidewalk by a tree. I was talking to my father on my cell phone. I knew that I had done nothing wrong, that I wasn’t harming anyone, so I walked away.A few minutes later, I was still talking to my dad when 2 different police officers accosted me and forced me into handcuffs. As I was sitting in the back of the police car, I remembered the countless times my father came home frustrated or humiliated by the cops when he had done nothing wrong. I felt his shame, his anger, and my own feelings of frustration for existing in a world where I have allowed myself to believe that “authority figures” could control my BEING… my ability to BE!!!!!!!I was sitting in that back of this cop car, filled with adrenaline, my wrist bleeding in pain, and it occurred to me, that even there, I STILL HAD POWER OVER MY OWN SPIRIT.Those cops could not stop me from expressing myself. They could not stop the cathartic tears and rage from flowing out of me. They could not force me to feel bad about myself. Yes, they had control over my physical body, but not my emotions. My feelings. My spirit was, and still is FREE.I will continue to look any “authority figure” in the eye without fear. NO POLICE OFFICER OR GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL IS MORE POWERFUL THAN ME. WE ARE EQUALS. I KNOW THAT I WILL ALWAYS BE FREE BECAUSE THAT IS THE NATURE OF MY SPIRIT.
Watts says some powerful things in her Facebook post. She is spot on to point out police officers and government officials should not be considered above the rest of society. In a free society, everyone must be equal and held to the same laws. Obviously, the current U.S.A. has a long ways to go in this department. This arrest is outrageous on many levels, but because this unfortunate incident happened to a celebrity, more focus will be placed on an out of control police state in this country. Additionally, this arrest provides an opportunity to examine the individual rights violations that exist as a result of “manmade” laws in this country. It is important to point out that even if the cops had arrested an actual prostitute and client, they are invading the individual rights of those two individuals (assuming the act was consensual.) There is no role for a government, which does not have the consent of the people, to intervene in a relationship between two consenting adults. When famous people have their rights violated by the government, people are outraged. When commoners have rights violated, especially when the law excuses the rights violators, people often look the other way and remain silent.U.S. Government “Threatened” Families Of Beheaded Reports Over Paying RansomABC News reports on the lack of compassion shown by government agents when they informed James Foley’s family that they would be prosecuted if they tried to bail him out:
The mother of slain American journalist James Foley said she wasn’t necessarily surprised that the U.S. government threatened her family with prosecution should they raise money to pay her son’s ransom, but she was astounded by how such a devastating message was delivered.“I was surprised there was so little compassion,” Diane Foley told ABC News today of the three separate warnings she said U.S. officials gave the family about the illegality of paying ransom to the terror group ISIS. “It just made me realize that these people talking to us had no idea what it was like to be the family of someone abducted… I’m sure [the U.S. official] didn’t mean it the way he said it, but we were between a rock and a hard place. We were told we could do nothing… meanwhile our son was being beaten and tortured every day.”Earlier this week five current and former officials with direct knowledge of the Foley case confirmed the alleged threats were made.
I don’t know about you, but if one of my loved one was kidnapped by thugs I would do everything in my power to return them to safety. It wouldn’t matter if they had been kidnapped by a street gang in the U.S. or “terrorists” in a foreign nation. The government’s stance on not allowing families to negotiate with groups that hold their loved ones captive is an assault to liberty and has no place in a society that claims to be the land of the free.Lindsey Graham Flips Out Over Obama’s ISIS PlanLindsey Graham is not a fan of Obama’s ISIS strategy. During an appearance on Fox News, Senator Graham called the idea that the U.S. government will not need boots on the ground to defeat ISIS a “fantasy.”Graham has long been one of the biggest cheerleaders for foreign intervention by the U.S. military and war in general. I’m not sure what makes Senator Graham think boots on the ground will be any more effective in destroying ISIS. After all, it was U.S. boots on the ground in Iraq that helped cultivate a climate in the country conducive to the growth of radical Islam. Why would another invasion be any different? Why doesn’t Senator Graham gather his own group (perhaps John McCain would be game) to travel over to Iraq and Syria and eliminate ISIS. Maybe he can literally put HIS boots on the ground in the Middle East. It is time to halt using funds coerced from the masses, without their consent, to wage wars in faraway lands.Check out Senator Graham nearly burst a blood vessel when discussing ISIS on Fox News:Read The Morning Roar every weekday Monday-Friday!The Lions of Liberty are on Twitter, Facebook & Google+Receive access to ALL of our EXCLUSIVE bonus audio content – including “Conspiracy Corner”, “Degenerate Gamblers” and the “League of Liberty Podcast” by joining the Lions of Liberty Pride and supporting us on Patreon!
