Tray shares what it was like growing up on the south side of Chicago at the height of the crack epidemic, in the late eighties, early nineties. She explains how she came to be sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for 500 dollars worth of drugs.While in prison Tray became a talented jailhouse lawyer and returned home a great organizer. Tray has held a diverse array of roles throughout her life. Tray spent time in Job corps, the United States Navy, community college, university, raised 8 children, sold drugs, graduated on the Dean’s List , did time in 5 different federal prisons and while in prison filed hundreds of motions in federal court for other prisoners.Download this episode (right click and save)
