The Supreme Court has ruled that the government violated the Constitution when FBI agents attached a GPS tracking device to a suspect’s car and monitored his movements for over a month without a warrant. So at least on this issue, the Constitution held up. You can read the details of the full story here (I’m not going to recap the whole thing), but in a nutshell, this invasion of privacy was in violation of the 4th Amendment. Justice Antonin Scalia,
Keep your Twitters tuned to @LionsofLiberty_ (make sure to include the underscore in the name) tonight for our LIVE tweeting of the second South Carolina GOP debate. It will be funny, poignant and full of solemn lamentations about the oh-so-sad terminations of Rick Perry and Jon Huntsman’s campaigns. We will be distraught to see Huntsman’s trio of hot daughters (…OK, two out of three…it’s like the Kardashians of politics over there…) fade back into that dark and desolate land of
Lions of Liberty is standing in unison with many other online content hubs to protest SOPA or the “Stop Online Piracy Act,” and PIPA “Protect IP Act.” A detailed description of these First Amendment-infringing acts can be found at Wikipedia, which is also protesting with a blackout of content for 24 hours, save for the information on SOPA and PIPA. In brief, these two acts were written to protect US-generated intellectual property in all forms (Film, TV, Music, Writing, etc).

What with all of the conversations about Liberty, the stripping of our rights due to the NDAA (which actually gave BACK the right of sodomy and bestiality to our proud military members…way to go guys! Right? The military can do whatever it wants to us now, including screwing our pets! Anyway…) we’ve all forgotten about the all-important DOOMSDAY CLOCK! Yes, the ridiculous emblem of all things fear-mongering, the DOOMSDAY CLOCK has been moved forward by another minute towards midnight, currently
Disturbing news in the wake of the despicable NDAA‘s passing a few days ago. Not only are the FEMA detainment camps springing up faster than Starbucks, but the Department of Homeland Security’s more than $34B in grants to local government has gone towards revamping local Police into militarized special ops teams. The Daily Beast has a story out today citing North Dakota’s use of the funds to outfit EVERY squad car in Fargo with a military grade automatic assault rifle,
What a glorious birthday for the Bill of Rights, a document designed to protect the liberties of every American. At least, that’s the theory, since today we blow out the candles on its birthday cake in the same way we will blow out the flames that were set to the Bill itself when the despicable National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) was ratified by the Senate and Obama made it clear he wouldn’t use a veto against it. Why is the
Ron Paul (per usual) is the voice of reason, speaking out against the ridiculous Donald Trump moderated debate that is set for Dec 27th. Paul rightly slams Trump’s involvement as “beneath the Presidency” and has refused to take part in what can’t hope but be anything but a complete farce. From the standpoint of this blog, there really can’t be any more damning statement made about the current state of the Republican Party than it’s infatuation with Donald Trump. A
Using a tactic that the US has perfected to disarm and placate its citizens through wordplay, Egypt has renamed its secret police force to “Homeland Security.” Doesn’t that sound all nice and fuzzy? Just like our own incredibly intrusive, liberty & Bill of Rights ignoring “Homeland Security!” This should serve as a wakeup call, that a military dictatorship is ripping a page straight from our so called “free” nation to continue to oppress its citizens.
