Ron Paul's "Dangerous" 2nd Place Finish in NH
Danger [Deyn-jer]: 1. liability or exposure to harm or injury; risk; peril. 2. an instance or cause of peril; menace.
It's a popular meme for GOP candidates and establishment media pundits to paint Ron Paul and his supporters as "dangerous". "Ron Paul would be dangerous for the United States", hails war-mongerer extraordinaire Michele Bachmann. "They are the 'legalize drugs' group", exclaims a desperately floundering Newt Gingrich, speaking of Paul supporters. The goal here of course, is to paint Ron Paul as a drug-loving hippie who will let those evil Muslims take over the world!!!!
Luckily, nearly a quarter of the voters in early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire have seemed to see through this propaganda, as Dr. Paul again finished strong in New Hampshire with 23% of the votes to Romney's 40%. This is quite impressive considering that NH is basically Mitt Romney's home territory, being adjacent to Massachusetts where Romney was governor and largely canvassed by it's media. The Paul campaign has also had to overcome a largely hostile media, who spent the last week playing down Paul's true surge in New Hampshire (he was polling around 10% there just a few weeks ago) and pushing Jon Huntsman as the "next big thing". Of course, Huntsman is basically Romney-Lite, as he agrees with Barack Obama on just about everything. The media narrative of course will portray Romney's back-to-back wins in Iowa and New Hampshire as "historic" (in fact, a quick news check this morning shows they've already started. I guess 32 years is considered "history" nowadays?), but that doesn't change the fact that most Republicans don't like Mitt Romney . Romney is considered the "safe" option. He won't shake up the status quo. Sure, he'll deliver the usual Republican rhetoric of "creating jobs" and the "greatness of America" and give some great teleprompter speeches. He'll look the part and act the part. If nominated, he may be a threat to the Obama Presidency, but he won't be a threat to the establishment. He won't be a threat to the military-industrial complex that reaps windfall profits off of our foreign entanglements. He won't be a threat to the medical-pharmaceutical-industrial complex that has almost completely taken over the "market" in health care. He won't be a threat to the Federal Reserve banking system.
Ron Paul is a threat to all these things. He is a threat to the fascist cartels and corporations that have infiltrated the government. He is a threat to those who oppose freedom. As Ron Paul says in this incredible speech below, Ron Paul and his supporters are indeed dangerous..."dangerous to the status quo".
If you are looking for something "historic" out of last night, please watch Dr. Paul's incredible speech below.
It's clear now that this is a 2 man race between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. Romney and Paul are the only two with the organization and fundraising to run a national campain. But unlike Mitt Romney, Ron Paul is not just campaigning for President. This is a campaign for liberty, and it will be a long one. Over the next 4 months, as the Perry's, Santorums and Huntman's of the world fall by the wayside, the choice for voters will be become more and more clear. What will it be? The establishment, or the grassroots? Propaganda, or truth? Fascism...of freedom?
The battle for freedom will not be won through the ballot box alone; it will be won by changing the hearts and minds of the people. And with nearly 25% of voters clicking the box marked "freedom" so far, I'd say we are well on our way.
