Mondays with Murray: Rothbard on "The Wolf of Wall Street"

There has been much critical acclaim coming for "The Wolf of Wall Street", in which Leonoardo Di Caprio plays the role of Jordan Belfort, who ran a "pump and dump" scheme in the '90's and was eventually jailed for two years on 27 counts related to fraud. Belfort was certainly guilty of fraud and should own compensation to his victims. However, for the purposes of this little Mondays with Murray experiment, I'd like to focus on one specific charge, that of "insider trading."While Murray Rothbard isn't around to see the film, he certainly had thoughts on the idea of "insider trading" being considered a crime. Here is Murray Rothbard from the 1989 Michigan Libertarian Party Convention, explaining why "insider trading" is not a crime, at least from the libertarian perspective of what should constitute a "crime."Check out past editions of Mondays with Murray by visiting the full archive page!Receive access to ALL of our EXCLUSIVE bonus audio content – including “Conspiracy Corner”, “Degenerate Gamblers” and the “League of Liberty Podcast” by joining the Lions of Liberty Pride and supporting us on Patreon!
