A Fond Fairwell to the Bill of Rights; NDAA and FEMA Detention Camps Live Happily Ever After

What a glorious birthday for the Bill of Rights, a document designed to protect the liberties of every American. At least, that's the theory, since today we blow out the candles on its birthday cake in the same way we will blow out the flames that were set to the Bill itself when the despicable National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) was ratified by the Senate and Obama made it clear he wouldn't use a veto against it.

Why is the NDAA so dangerous, you may ask? Within its myriad provisions designed to "protect" U.S. citizens from the boogie man that is global terrorism, the NDAA includes vague language that in essence permits the government to capture and detain anyone (American or non, home or abroad) in detention camps that they suspect are involved in terrorist acts, or could be classified as a (intentionally vague) "military combatant."  Section 1031 of the bill provides that ability to our grand leaders, with no option for the citizen to respond with any legal recourse. There was talk from President Obama, who has opted to substitute his promise of "Change" with that of "Chains," of vetoing this historically depraved act, all of which dissipated when certain amendments were made to the bill. The American people assumed Obama's objection to the NDAA was based in a protective gesture towards the populace which elected him...that he was assuredly using his background as a professor of Constitutional Law and extending his powerful reach as President to protect our basic right to a trial. But we would be woefully wrong. As Senator Carl Levin, Chairman of the Armed Services Comittee pointed out, the Obama administration asked for the polar opposite.

“The language which precluded the application of Section 1031 to American citizens was in the bill that we originally approved…and the administration asked us to remove the language which says that U.S. citizens and lawful residents would not be subject to this section,” said Levin, Chairman of the Armed Services Committee.

Obama actually did his part to ensure that every single one of us would be stripped of our  right to a trial. His only concern with the bill was that those classified as "military combatants" would be more at the mercy of the President than the military. Once that language was changed, he had no quarrel with it, nor with any of its implications. He did this in the face of opposition from the heads of the very organizations helping in his terrorist crusade as well, including the CIA and the FBI.Naturally, other news came hand in hand with this, though not publically from Obama's  "transparent" White House - namely that Halliburton subsidiary KBR is currently scouting for sub-contractors to staff 5 regions of detainment camps in the United States at this very moment. As Prison Planet reports:

....In 2006, KBR was contracted by Homeland Security to build detention centers designed to deal with “an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S,” or the rapid development of unspecified “new programs” that would require large numbers of people to be interned.......The revelation that Halliburton subsidiary KBR is seeking sub-contractors to staff and outfit “emergency environment” camps located in five regions of the United States follows preparations over the last three years to deal with riots inside the United States that have already spread throughout Europe, North Africa and the Middle East...

The government is not only stripping Americans of their rights, but it is already preparing for the backlash against it. Predator drones have already been deployed in domestic matters that you would never imagine the government would stick its nose into. It is a truly terrifying time to be an American citizen, as our elected officials have formally turned against us with the NDAA. When news outlets like Al Jezeera are reporting on brazen attacks on the rights of US citizens, as they do here, you know we have passed the point of reason.
